Hello blogging world, it's been a long time I've been away from virtual writing life. Sorry for that. I am currently back to college life since August 2013 because I continue my study into the Bachelor Degree (extension program) at STBA-Yapari ABA, Bandung. Still majoring English, tho'. Yeah, I'm on my way for being a great English lecturer in the future rite haha..

Ok back to the title. Seem boring, but it was one of my biggest highlights in 2013! Another memorable highligt was my engagement day with my beloved Harist and the journey during the Indonesia-Malaysia Youth Exhange Program (IMYEP) held by KEMENPORA RI and Kementrian Belia dan Sukan, Malaysia. This program has not been written in this blog yet since I need to compose it into a good review so everybody can read the post without thinking too much about the issue (ngeles:p).

OK IT'S OFFICIALY BACK TO THE TITLE!

So, I was called by one of the officer of KEMENPORA RI last November (I forgot the exact date) named Mba Uki. She informed me that there is a forum held in Cambodia in the end of November and Indonesia would send six (6) delegates chosen by the ministry to join that forum. I was free by the designated time given by the committee and without thinking too much, I said yes to her and the next step will be informed through email. It's quite surprising to know that I was chosen since I just be back at home last month and finished IMYEP, but there is directly another chance to go abroad (freely) again hehe. Alhamdulillah..

Not long after the phone call, Mba Uki sent me the email regarding the following news about the forum and the document needed to be sent to the local committee. By that email, I finally knew the highlight of this forum.

Name of the forum: "ASEAN-Japan Youth Leader Forum: Roles of Youth in the ASEAN-Japan Relations in the 21st Century"
Place : Siem Reap, Cambodia
Date : 30 Nov-2 Dec 2013

The date was actually delayed from the first announcement due tp several technical problem (as what had been informed by the committee) and I was quite dissappointed with the delay since I need to rearrange my schedule at college (sok sibuk, haha).
Anw, the six delegates (including me) are all the alumny of PPAN (Program Pertukaran Antar Negara) in different batch. They all are my new friends (except Icu, since I've known her at the selection test of West Java PPAN 2013):

Overall, the forum was brought up by SamdechAkka MohasenaPdei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the 16th ASEAN-Japan Summit on 9 October 2013 as part of the commemoration of the 40th Anniversary of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation with the purpose of providing a platform for youth leaders from ASEAN Member States and Japan to exchange views on achievements, challenges, and opportunities of the ASEAN-Japan relations as well as to provide recommendations for future direction of ASEAN-Japan strategic partnership in the next decades. The forum would make key recommendations to the leaders at their ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit in Tokyo, on 13-15 December 2013 for their consideration (cited from the Opening Remark by H.E IM KOCH on the opening ceremony of the forum).

So, quite interesting rite? I personally agree and here are some photos taken during the forum and you can see the athmosphere of the youth excitement over there :)

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.. Assalamualaikum wr,wb.. Wilujeng sumping! Last Saturday, 29 June 2013, PCMI (Purna Caraka Muda Indonesia) West Java held an annual event called Riung Mumpulung which was located at Mazzano Cafe, Jl.Tirtayasa no.27. The committee, which are the PPAN and Jenesys 2.0 member Batch 2013, are working together to make this event goes smoothly and succesfully. However, due to the bad weather, the event started one hour late from the rundown which was planned to start at 15.30. The number of the guest who were coming were also out from expectation; there were only 8 alumnae. But, that was not reduce our excitement and happiness to conduct this event. At 17.00 sharp, we started the event. Generally, the event was the moment for us as the newbie in this organization to get closer with the previous generation of PCMI who already had the experience of the youth exchange. The alumnae were pleased to share their experience and moment with us and also gave advice for us to be good delegates who can represent West Java for another delegation and also for the world. Besides the presentation by the Jenesys 2.0 delegates, we also had the traditional performance show while the guest were having the dinner. The event finished at 19.30 and that was the moment for all of us to say goodbye. Me, and the committee, would like to say our greatest gratitude for the alumnae who gave their time to come to Riung Mungpulung. Also, as the leader for this event, I would like to say bunch of thanks to the whole committee for their hard work and efforts along the preparation time of this event. Despite the lack, we are happy to have this precious moment. See you on the next Riung Mungpulung batch 2014!

Bekerja dengan optimal tanpa dihantui rasa sakit kepala sebelah sudah lama menjadi idaman saya. Pekerjaan saya sebagai seorang sekretaris Deputy Senior General Manager di salah satu perusahaan telekomunikasi terbesar di Indonesia menuntut saya untuk selalu siap dan sigap dalam mengatur serta mengelola jadwal dan kegiatan atasan yang sangat padat. Terkadang, bekerja lembur hingga larut malam pun saya lakukan agar keesokan harinya saya tidak terbebani dengan pekerjaan yang seharusnya bisa diselesaikan di hari yang bersamaan.

Pernah suatu ketika, saya dipercaya untuk mengelola acara yang melibatkan para petinggi perusahaan beserta tamu asing yang akan hadir dalam rangka penandatangan kerjasama diantara kedua perusahaan. Saya ditugaskan untuk menyusun jadwal kegiatan, berkoordinasi dengan rekan-rekan dari divisi General Support, sekaligus menjadi interpreter dan MC untuk acara tersebut yang dibawakan dengan menggunakan Bahasa Inggris. Sebagai pegawai baru dan junior di kantor, tantangan tersebut saya ambil dengan rasa optimis dan percaya diri karena inilah saatnya saya untuk menunjukkan kapabilitas serta kemampuan diri.

Persiapan yang cukup menyita perhatian ditengah minimnya waktu dan sumber daya membuat saya harus bekerja multitasking. Pada awalnya, rasa pegal di sekitar leher dan pundak saya abaikan karena saya dikejar waktu untuk segera menyelesaikan seluruh persiapan sebelum hari H. Puncaknya, beberapa jam sebelum acara dimulai, saya dilanda sakit kepala sebelah dan memaksa saya untuk kembali ke ruangan kerja untuk beristirahat.

Namun, rasa sakit kepala sebelah tersebut tidak kunjung reda dan malah semakin memburuk. Salah seorang office boy (OB) di kantor yang sudah saya anggap sebagai bapak melihat saya yang sedang kesakitan sambil memijit kepala. Tanpa banyak tanya, OB tersebut kembali ke ruangan saya sambil membawa Bodrex Migra dan segelas air putih. Berharap banyak untuk segera sembuh dan bisa kembali beraktivitas, saya segera meminum satu tablet Bodrex Migra sambil mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Bapak OB.

Tak disangka, sakit kepala sebelah yang saya alami perlahan hilang dan saya mampu memandu acara penandatangan kerjasama tersebut tanpa dihantui rasa sakit kepala sebelah. Acara pun berjalan lancar dan atasan saya memberikan apreasiasi nya atas kerja keras serta kerjasama yang baik antara saya dengan divisi lain di kantor.

Pengalaman saya tersebut meyakinkan saya untuk selalu sedia Bodrex Migra di tas, laci kantor, maupun di kotak P3K di rumah. Terima kasih kepada Bapak OB, dan tentunya sahabat terbaik saya dikala sakit kepala sebelah, Bodrex Migra.

Hei, good morning fellas!
As my promise, this time I would like to share my personal opinion for you guys who are in the phase of searching job. Me, personally, have less than two years experience as a worker, but since I was invited as a guest lecturer in my previous campus to share about the preparation of entering the job field, so I make a resume of it BASED ON MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. Here they are...

1. IS IT YOUR REAL PASSION?
Passion. Minat. Hasrat. Keinginan. Well, sometimes it's hard for us to determine what is the real passion on your own life. Some people also find difficulties in finding the real passion along the term of their working time. Banyak juga yang skeptis kalo bekerja sesuai passion itu hanya beberapa orang aja yang beruntung bisa mendapatkannya, while pada intinya kerja itu ya cari duit. Suka atau tidak suka, mau atau ga mau, ya harus dijalani kalo kamu mau dapet duit dan kebutuhan kamu terpenuhi, But sorry, I personally disagree with that skeptical reason. Saya memang baru dua kali bekerja di dua perusahaan yang berbeda; satu perbankan, satu lagi telekomunikasi. Inti pekerjaannya pun berbeda jauh. Namun, di titik kedua inilah, saya telah menemukan passion saya sesungguhnya. Saya tipikal orang yang senang bertemu org bary, bicara depan orang, presentasi, dealing with new people, dan passion tersebut yang menggiring saya untuk resign dan melanjutkan pendidikan saya ke jenjang S1, karena saya baru memiliki ijazah D3. Pada intinya, keputusan untuk bekerja sesuai passion memang tidak akan langsung didapat setelah temen2 lulus kuliah, ada juga yang menemukannya setelah merasa nyaman dengan pekerjaan yang dimiliki sekarang. Well, apapun alasannya, temen2 masih punya waktu untuk berusaha mencari passion apa yang temen2 miliki, sehingga bener2 dapet kerjaan yang ga asal kerja dan malah jadi beban hidup buat temen2.

2. WHAT POSITION DO THEY OFFER TO YOU?
I put huge focus on this case. Banyak temen2, apalagi fresh graduate, yang melamar ke suatu perusahaan without considering the job desk of the position they apply to. Nah, sebelum melamar, make sure you really know posisi yang kamu apply, jangan cuma karena semua jurusan, atau looks like a cool job based on its name padahal nyatanya kamu ga ngerti apa2, dan lain sebagainya. Jangan sampe km diterima tapi ternyata posisi itu ngga kamu banget, dan kamu dengan mudahnya resign atau ga lanjut kerja. Kan ga baik buat image kita, selain itu kasian sama perusahaan juga..

3. CONSIDER THE WORK LOCATION
Ada beberapa orang yang seneng pekerjaan yang sifatnya travelling, ada juga yang seneng stay di suatu tempat dalam kurun waktu tertentu tanpa perlu pindah-pindah. Yup, kalo menurut saya ada dua tipe work location: office-based dan project-based. Office based sangat cocok buat orang yang merasa nyaman bekerja dibelakang komputer, ga pindah kemana2. Sedangkan project-based, ya namanya juga sesuai proyek, pasti pindah-pindah sesuai rentang waktu proyek tersebut. Kalo masalah ini kadang balik lagi ke gender, walaupun ga semuanya perempuan memilih untuk office-based. So, find the plus and minus from both types, and choose the one which fits your character most.

4. STATUS OF EMPLOYMENT
Bekerja di perusahaan ternama, status karyawan tetap, tentunya jadi impian smeua orang. Ada juga yang sudah bertahun-tahun bekerja di suatu perusahaan namun statusnya tetap outsourcing tanpa memiliki kesempatan lebih untuk diangkat menjadi karyawan tetap. Ga bisa dipungkiri, status karyawan tetap sangatlah ideal karena bukan hanya gaji, namun tunjangan serta fasilitas lainnya yang menjadi hak karyawan dapat kita nikamti secara penuh. Namun, bukan berarti karyawan outsourcing ga bisa seperti itu. Bagi fresh graduate yang tentunya minim pengalaman, I guess there is nothing wrong if you try the outsourcing first if you have limited chance/ ngerasa sulit untuk apply menjadi pegawai tetap. Namun untuk kedepannya, tentu nya harus diusahakan mencari kesempatan untuk diangkat atau kalopun ga mungkin, carilah pekerjaan lain yang menawarkan status tetap.

5. HOW ABOUT YOUR CAREER IMPROVEMENT?
There is no one in this world who want to stay forever as a junior staff. I believe, we want to have a good and fix career improvement yang bisa kita raih melalui prestasi dan performance baik yang kita tunjukkan selama kita bekerja. Nah, poin ini kadang yang orang lupain, apalagi kalo udah ada di comfort zone, karena somehow kalo pengen career improvement, kadang kita harus dimutasi ke tempat yg lebih jauh, posisi yang lebih menantang, dan hal lain yang menuntut kita keluar dari zona nyaman kita. Well, balik lagi ke diri masing-masing sih..

6. SALARY
I personally don't like to talk about how big or small your salary is. Namun, sebagai makhluk hidup, tentu kita butuh uang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari kita. Basically, gaji yang diterima akan sesuai dengan kinerja yang kita lakukan sebagai seorang pekerja. Gaji seorang direktur tentu akan sesuai dengan tanggung jawab serta hasil pemikirannya yang dicurahkan  untuk memajukan perusahaan. Intinya sih, saya bukan tipe orang yang cari duit dengan melakukan apapun pekerjaan, tapi prinsip saya, let money works for us, sesuai dengan kinerja yang telah kita lakukan. Insya Allah, selama kita sungguh-sungguh berusaha, rejeki akan mengalir..

7. FAMILY DOES MATTER
Hmm untuk point yang terakhir sih bener-bener karena pengalaman pribadi. Ada kalanya mimpi dan target pekerjaan yang kita idam-idamkan, sudah berada di genggaman, namun harus dilepas karena tidak adanya support dan persetujuan orang tua, atau mungkin suami bagi yang sudah menikah. Dan saya pribadi sudah mengalaminya (orangtua yah, belum kawin bo eyke). So, to avoid the same thing happen in the future, I discuss every single thing when I apply for a job and during the recruitment process to let my mom and dad know my efforts in getting my dream job.

That's all! So, currently I'm busy with my preparation as the delegation for IMYEP from West Java and still searching for a better job now. Yuk sama-sama berusaha, kalo ada yang merasa ga setuju dengan pendapat di atas, well it depends on each person, karena kan ini murni pengalaman pribadi saya sebagai penulis hehe.
